Kaycee Holcomb made sure the individual title stayed at Oak Park for another year Wednesday in the adidas/Oak Park Cross Country Invitational at Oak Canyon Park.

 

Holcomb clocked 19 minutes, 25.2 seconds to win the girls' race to follow former teammate Melissa Skiba as an individual winner.

 

But it was Newbury Park which took home the team crown, placing four runners in the top nine to edge Oak Park, 34-37.

 

Shannon Bryne finished the 3-mile course at 19:44 to take fourth place, with teammates McKenna Sheehan (21:22.6) and Danika Kline (21:27.8) crossing the finish line in seventh and eighth places, respectively.

 

In the boys' race, Newbury Park's Sean Grumney captured the individual title with a time of 16:43.9.

 

Thousand Oaks won the team title, finishing with 28 points followed by Newbury Park (35), Oak Park (94) and Agoura (96).

 

Sam Worley was the top finisher for Thousand Oaks, placing second at 17:00.

 

The Lancers swept the five through eight spots with Matt Garvin (17:15.8), Michael Spencer (17:24.5), Tommy Lopez (17:25.9) and Tyler Hughes (17:26.2).
